| AA boom / socks contain the aqueous polymer absorbent and are extremely effective in absorbing and encapsulating aqueous liquids & water soluble hydrocarbons. The AA polymer absorbent in the boom/sock picks up hazardous fluids, encapsulates, stabilizes and solidifies these aqueous solutions; turning hazardous liquids into a non- hazardous material for disposal.
The AA polymer absorbent filler in the boom/sock has the ability to absorb up to 300 times it own weight in natural water. Boom/socks come in various lengths and sizes ranging from 2 feet to 10 feet lengths and diameters of 3 and 5 inches. when the boom /sock comes in contact with or is emersed in aqueous liquids, the polymer content will absorb solidify and stabilize the hazardous liquids activating only a small portion of the product in the boom/sock compared to the volume of liquid removed.
Large boom/socks can be used to remove significant quantities of hazardous materials and contaminated water from petroleum products. Using AA polymer absorbent in a filtration process, water can be separated from fuel making the recovered petroleum products available for reuse.
AA polymer absorbent can also be used in the containment of spills involving aqueous liquid contaminants or petro chemicals products during flooding conditions as a means of cleaning up and disposing contaminated water.
Sizing the boom/sock depends on their intended use. However, if greater lengths are required beyond the standard 10 feet maximum length, the individual units are designed to be connected and expanded to the desired length. |
